Project Description
The development of a three-year transformative strategy for Regional Platform No. 2 was commissioned by EAFF under the International Land Coalition framework. The platform, comprising eight members from West, Central, South, and East Africa, brings together strong smallholder farmer organizations to promote people-centered land governance aligned with family farming principles. EAFF engaged Centafrique as the lead consultant to lead the strategy development process.
The assignment began by reviewing key documents from platform members and stakeholders to gather in-depth insights into family farming and the global challenges affecting implementation. The team conducted a thematic analysis across the four regions to identify regional priorities, challenges, and potential working modalities. Based on this analysis, the Centafrique Consulting designed a transformative strategy centered on cross-cutting issues such as women’s and youth access to land and productive resources. The process also included facilitating the integration of regional themes into a cohesive framework, outlining a clear implementation roadmap.
In addition, the Centafrique Consulting developed a detailed action plan, including resource mobilization strategies, and prepared a communication and implementation plan to ensure coordinated execution across all members. The final strategy was shaped in close collaboration with stakeholders and aimed at enabling inclusive and sustainable land governance for smallholder farmers.
