Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner
Mr John Mungai
Lead – Economic Research, SME Financing and Strategy
Mr John Mungai is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner at Centafrique Consulting. He is a co-founder as well as team leader in economics, business financing and business strategy consultancies. He is an accomplished and experienced Economists with 10+ years’ track record and experience in; strategic planning, economic policy and analysis, business financing, research, monitoring and evaluation, financial inclusion, fundraising and SME mentorship.
Mr. Mungai was instrumental in development and implementation of transformation strategies for various organizations including; national development financial institution in Kenya, micro-finance institution, Saving and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), e-commerce entities, agro-processing companies, medium and Large Scale farms and not-for-profit organizations.
He is also a cofounder and immediate former deputy secretary general of the Economists Society of Kenya (ESK). Additionally, Mr Mungai is an adjunct lecturer at Egerton University, Department of Economics, Nairobi Campus. He has worked as the Chief Strategy and planning Officer, Head of Research at Agricultural Finance Corporation – Kenya, and as an Economist with the National Treasury, Republic of Kenya. Mr. He has led successful implementation of different research projects, consultancies, feasibility studies and fundraising. He has authored/co-authored research and seminar papers, research studies reports, and strategy documents.
Mr Mungai holds a Masters of Science degree (MSc) in Economics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) – Kenya and a bachelor’s of arts degree (BA) in Economics and from Egerton University – Kenya.
Lead and Expert Trainer on Evaluation for Development Practice, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Dr. Naomi Nduta Njoroge, PhD
Dr. Naomi Njoroge is the Lead and Expert Trainer on Evaluation for Development Practice,
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), and Project Management Centafrique Consulting. She is
an experienced consultant and a skillful trainer with extensive experience in monitoring and
evaluating of development projects and programs with a wealth of knowledge in project
planning, designing and management.
She is an adjunct lecture at Mt Kenya University, Kenya and a research thesis supervisor for
post graduate students at Mt Kenya University and Africa Nazerene University (Kenya). She
is a lead trainer at the Institute of Knowledge Development and Productivity (IKDP)
specializing on monitoring and evaluation and development programs. Dr Naomi Njoroge has
been actively involved in conducting both research studies and mid-term/end-term
evaluations for various organizations including; East African Farmers Federation, Plan
International, Murang’a County Cooperative Creameries Murang’a, and in evaluation of water
and health projects in Kenya.
Dr Naomi Njoroge holds a PhD and master degrees on Project Planning and Management
from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of science degree (Bed Science) in Chemistry.
She has authored and published articles on Project Planning and Management along with
participating in International Conferences.
LEAD – SENIOR CONSULTANT - FINANCIAL SERVICES
George Watsulu
Mr George Watsulu an accomplished finance and banking professional with over 25 years of experience in expertise in Credit Risk Management, Debt Management, Feasibility Plans, Proposal Writing, Business Plans, Financial Analysis, Sourcing & Mobilization of Funds, Credit Training.
George has worked extensively in the financial sector gaining valuable experience in all areas of the banking sector. He has previously worked in various reputable organizations including; I&M Bank Limited, Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited and Daima Bank Limited
On advisory, he has led critical successful advisories including establishment of several financial services entities which included set up of legal and regulatory framework, recruitment & training of staff, strategy & marketing and roll-out of day-to-day management of the credit function. He also spearheaded the relaunch of a microfinance which had closed down in 2016 due to operational and management challenges.
Mr George is also an accomplished facilitator and trainer having held briefs at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (under Central Bank of Kenya) and Sheer Logic Management Services Limited. He has conducted in-house training programmes for National Bank of Kenya, Kenya Pipeline Corporation, Daystar University, Export Processing Zone – Athi River; among other regional organizations.
He is an MBA Finalist in Finance at Mt. Kenya University, Kenya, and has undergone several trainings related to banking and financial services.
Senior Consultant & Lead Training Services
Calvin Otieno Odhiambo
Calvin Otieno is a Senior Associate (Economic Research & Policy) and SME advisor at Centafrique Consulting. He has 11+ years’ experience in Business development and advisory, project appraisal, customer service management and economic research and financial management.
He is an accredited business skills trainer and curriculum developer with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC). In addition, he is part- time lecturer in business skills and customer service management at Kenya Pipeline Morendat College of Oil and gas.
Mr. Calvin Otieno has also worked as a senior business advisory officer in charge of consultancies, trainings and business advisory at Kenya Industrials Estates, a development finance institution providing credit and technical assistance to MSMEs. He currently also serves as a member of the Project Implementation Unit of the Kenya Industry and Entrepreneurship Project (KIEP) – a World Bank funded project that support SMEs recover from effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in Kenya. He previously worked as customer service officer and corporate trainer with Standard Chartered Bank-Kenya for six years.
His has executed several successful assignments including; Research studies on impact of Covid-19 on SME development, advisory projects and consultancies mainly in manufacturing, value addition and agro-processing.
Mr Clavin Otieno holds a B.A degree in Economics and sociology and a Masters of economics (Cooperation and Human Development) at Kenyatta University –Kenya

Kenneth W. Kareithi
Mr. Kareithi, is a Principal Consultant at Centafrique Consulting with a special focus on; Strategic Planning, Change Management, Marketing, SME Mentor and Trainer.
He is an accomplished expert in strategic and change management, with over 23 years of experience in expertise in Distributor Management & B2B Customer Retention Agreements, Marketing, Relationship Building, Operations, Strategic commercial projects and sales initiatives, HR, Quality Management Compliance, Legal and Plant operations amongst others.
Mr. Kareithi has worked extensively in the multinational, service, manufacturing industries and investment companies (Kenya, Uganda, Botswana & South Africa), gaining exemplary practice, networks and knowledge in various business standards and procedures. He has over 15 years of team management and supervision; coaching and mentoring. He has been instrumental in establishing and turn-around of business.
He has previously worked in turn strategies of various large organizations including; Sameer Agriculture & Livestock (K) Ltd, Doshi Group (K) Ltd, Olympia Capital Holdings, Mather + Platt (K) Ltd, East Africa Breweries, British American Tobacco (BAT) Eastern Africa, Nation Media Group, and MTN Business Kenya (formerly UUNET Kenya Ltd)
He is a trained and certified professional on Innovation Master Class Programme, Diageo Way of Brand Building (DWBB), Breakthrough Performance Coaching, Bullet Proof Manager Series and Bullet Proof Customer Service Series and Contract law.
Mr. Kareithi holds Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science (International Business Administration) from United States International University (USIU) Africa
Senior Associate & Lead – Data & Digitization
Eliud Luutsa
Eliud Luutsa is an Associate – Research, Business Strategy and Digitization at Centafrique Consulting.
He also leads of MSME mentorship and Training Programmes.
A transformation enthusiast, Mr Luutsa is passionate about upskilling and empowering SMEs and start-ups through entrepreneurship and Leadership trainings and mentorship programmes. He has developed and implemented several empowerment and youth-focused entrepreneurship programmes and projects. At Centafrique Consulting, Eliud is incharge of innovation and business research into new digital products and customer trends and behaviors, and has been responsible for transforming the company into a reputable consulting and advisory firm with expanded focus areas including business advisory, MSME support services and start-up mentorship.
He has worked with several organization accumulating wealth of experience and expertise over the years. He has worked with Heroes for Change as the programme lead and head of digital strategy where he was in charge of business strategy department and was the technical lead in designing social impact intervention that facilitated over 1000 young graduates (Heroes) implement interventions in their communities reaching over 2 million people in 2 years. Similarly, he worked at Archimedes Sanitation project in Nairobi in design and development of the business model for the enabling over 100,000 families living informal settlements to access quality and affordable sanitation.
He was also the digital lead responsible for implementing all digital aspects of the programme. Additionally, Mr. Eliud is a mentor for young social entrepreneurs at the Ye! Community on growing and scaling their businesses.
Mr Eliud hold a bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) – Kenya.
